For more than 100 years, ozone, considered a virus killer in nature, has been widely used by people for disinfection, sterilization, deodorization, detoxification, storage, and bleaching thanks to its strong oxidizability.
The ozone (O3) function of the Platinum Air Purifier and Sterilizer has a separate control and should run intermittently during the day. Ozone is a powerful disinfectant and has been positively tested to kill a variety of coronavirus strains, including SARS, and is believed by many to be a weapon in the global fight against COVID-19. When using the O3 function, run the ozone in an unoccupied space along with the high fan setting at intervals of 30 minutes or less. O3 decomposes back to pure oxygen in about 20 minutes.
Along with O3, the machine's ultraviolet light mimics the sun's disinfecting properties, reducing the spread of germs, bacteria, and other microbes. Ultraviolet light damages the DNA that controls the reproduction of these organisms, making it impossible for them to reproduce. The UV function of the Platinum Air Purifier should run continuously as long as the unit is running.
